This is a 1950's USAF (United States Air Force) field jacket, officially known as the Jacket Mans Single Breasted, which was used only by the USAF before being converted to the M-65. It has a large collar and a hood that can be stored inside the collar, which is connected to the design of the built-in hood of the M-65, but the hood of this jacket is anyway large and is one of its features. It is not a popular field jacket in Japan, and it was used during the Korean War. The hood is large enough to be worn with a helmet stowed in the hood, the pockets have been changed from buttons to snap buttons, etc. The collar feels quite large, but I think it is an interesting feature of the jacket. The color of the jacket is gray, this unique color is called sage green and was adopted by the U.S. Air Force in the 50's. １９５０年代のUSAF（アメリカ空軍）のフィールドジャケットです、正式名称はJacket　Mans　Single Breasted　ですM-65に変換されるまでにUSAFのみで使用されました、採用されていた期間が短い為あまり数は出回っていないフィールドジャケットです大きな襟が特徴で襟の中にはフードが収納されます、この後のM－65の内蔵フードのデザインに繋がりますがこのジャケットのフードはとにかく大きく特色のひとつとなります、エリマキトカゲ、ヘチマ襟とも呼ばれますが、知らない人のほうが多いかもしれません、日本ではあまりポピュラーなフィールドジャケットではありません、使用されていた時期は朝鮮戦争時のものです。

デザインは後のM65に繋がるものが多いです、フードに収納されたヘルメットを被った状態でも被れる大型のフード、ポケットはボタンからスナップボタンへ変更等、襟がかなり大きく感じるんですがそれはジャケットの特徴として面白いと思います、
色なんですがグレーです、この独特の色はセージグリーンと呼ばれアメリカ空軍が50年代に採用した色です、このグレーですが光沢がありコットンとの比率の関係だと思うんですが独特のカラーですね、

M-65のデザインや色が気にいらなくてフィールドジャケットの購入を迷ってた方などにはお勧めです、日本で着てる人は多くはないと思います、状態のいい物があれば是非手に入れてみてください。
